The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) has inaugurated the 4th Rules Working Group (RWG), tasked with reviewing the Market Rules governing the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
The MD, NISO, Abdu Bello Mohammed, in the company of the ED, Market Operations, Dr. Edmund Eje and the ED, System Planning, Engr. Shehu Abba, urged the Group to approach their work with excellence and a strong sense of purpose.
The inauguration, according to the post on the company’s social media, marks the formal commencement of the Group’s activities, with key focus on reviewing and aligning the 2014 Market Rules with the provisions of the Electricity Act 2023.
The 10- member committee is headed by Prof Stephen Ogaji as Chairman, Ojo Adeniyi David as Vice Chairman and Okala Onuwa Uche as Secretary. The committee is membered by representatives of GenCos, Discos. TCN and service agencies, major stakeholders in the power industry.
The visit was geared towards fostering stronger collaboration between both organisations in a bid to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
Both entities have committed to maintaining a harmonious working relationship and fostering collaborations that would unlock mutual benefits while serving the common good of Nigerians.
